Depression
Do you have trouble finding the emotional strength to tackle your days?
Are you feeling overwhelmed, exhausted, unmotivated or sad? Do you have trouble finding the willpower to get out of bed or out of the house? Do you find yourself thinking negatively about yourself and others, or sabotaging relationships because you believe they’re doomed to fail? Have you stopped doing things you once enjoyed because you don’t enjoy them any more?
Living with depression can feel isolating, painful, and self-defeating. It can sometimes feel like “you just can’t win” or that you “keep getting kicked when you’re down.” Your sleeping and eating patterns may have changed, and you may feel lethargic and like you’re dragging yourself through life.
Depression is becoming more common among American adults
Depression affects approximately 14.8 million American adults and much of it goes untreated because individuals feel there isn’t any hope for them to overcome their emotions. Identifying underlying causes for negativity patterns and breaking those patterns to replace them with different habits and mindsets are often the first steps to creating a more positive outlook.
While depression is one of the most commonly diagnosed mental disorders, it is also one of the most commonly and successfully managed and treated.
